Educate Culture and History of Korea (ECHO-Korea) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing teaching and learning materials to teachers and students in order to facilitate awareness of Korean culture and history. Although the Korean community has been one of the fastest-growing Asian ethnic groups in the United States, particularly in California, few school curricula have covered the Korean culture and history in the California public school system.

The goal of the ECHO-Korea is to enhance and foster the teaching and learning of Korean history and culture among Kindergarten to 12th graders in order to promote cross-cultural understanding and give children the opportunity to participate in multicultural and multi-ethnic learning opportunities. For the past three years, the ECHO-Korea staff has participated in the publication of various Korean history and culture books and multimedia materials.

Now, we shift our focus to researching and developing lesson plans and hands-on projects to provide for the classrooms. We plan to provide educational programs for Korean-Americans, Korean adoptees, and children from other communities with the goal of teaching Korean history and culture through workshops, camps and book clubs.
