The fifth day of the 2014 YKAA Summer Camp was another enjoyable day. Teacher Arirang lectured about the day’s theme, “Review and MUN” The agenda for the day was:

• Review the past 150 years of Korean history with a quiz competition and a skit

• Make a newspaper describing incidents during the past 150 years of Korean history

• Have a mock UN conference

• Guest speaker

Teacher Arirang reviewed the material from the past 4 days through a quiz competition. She invited leaders to perform a skit to review the past 150 years history. The leaders acted out various historical events: a Confucian scholar cutting his hair during the Gabo Reform, Empress Myeongseong’s assassination in the Eulmi Incident, and a Japanese representative threatening a Korean officer in the Eulsa Treaty scene.

The third day of the 2014 YKAA Summer camp was even more fun and exciting. Teacher JeongEum lectured about today’s theme, “Before and After the Korean War.” She reviewed the previous day’s lecture and then talked about the background of Korean War and the situation after the liberation from Japan around Korean peninsula.

The second day of the 2013 YKAA Summer camp ended enjoyably. Teacher Hunmin lectured about today’s theme, “The Independence Movement” as below

The first day of the 2014 YKAA Summer Camp ended successfully with 22 students and 7 teachers.

Teacher DaeJangGeum introduced the objective and goals of the camp. Quoting one of the greatest Korean historians Shin Chaeho, “People who forget the history of their country has no future," she emphasized the importance of learning history. Then, teachers and leaders were introduced.
